Planning granted in Wales
Planning permission granted for contemporary house in rural location in South Wales
We are pleased to announce the Ah.Design successfully gained planning permission for a new self build house in South Wales. The design needed to take into consideration the surrounding built form and rural surroundings. Planning was granted without the need for negotiation with the Local Authority and the scheme was highly commended by the planning officer.
The house provides approximately 230m2 of accommodation, and provides 3 double bedrooms on the ground floor along with a large open plan family living space opening up onto a south facing garden, a formal sitting room, utility, wc and double garage. A staircase to the first floor serves a master bedroom with en suite and dressing area, which also faces towards the front of the site, enjoying distant views onto the Welsh countryside.
The external look presents a contemporary house with classic styling. The garage and utility have been created as part basement to keep the overall height of the building down, to help it sit comfortably next to the neighboring properties which are single storey bungalows.
We will be releasing a case study for this project that will contain more information on the design and how we approached to process.
